An Abstract Eye
August 11-Sept. 19, 2008

Norman Medders passed away in 2006, but left behind a legacy of abstract landscapes and mixed media artwork. Born and raised in Calhoun, Medders majored in art, served in the Army in World War II, then pursued an art career in New York. The Medders family holds the largest private collection of Norman's work in the world and will share a sampling of this nationally known artist's paintings with gallery patrons.

GREAT EGGSPECTATIONS
August 11-Sept. 19, 2008

Alan Rabon is an accomplished artist whose canvas happens to be eggs, all types of

eggs, from ostrich to quail. A "Master Egg Carver", Alan likes to push the envelope,

removing as much of the shell as possible while still maintaining the structural integrity

of the shell. Rabon will exhibit examples of his intricately carved eggs together with

a grouping of his paintings.

Don Maier from Marietta will combine watercolors of the Southwest with a series of pastels inspired from the views in his own backyard. Steve Moore of Fairmount paints a variety of subjects with his signature style of painting a trompe l'oeil frame as well.
