Curtain Call for Kids
Curtain Call for Kids is a partnership between the city and county schools and the Calhoun Gordon Arts Council. The mission of Curtain Call for kids is to provide a professional theatrical experience for every Kindergarten through fifth grade student in Calhoun and Gordon County.
We welcome Gainesville Theater Alliance for the 2008-2009 school year.

Instructional Programs at the Harris Arts Center include on-going classes in art, music, dance, creative writing, Kindermusik, workshops, and art, theater and music summer camps.

Share the Music!
Share the Music is a program where new or used musical instruments are donated to the arts center, refurbished, and put into the hands of elementary school children who would not otherwise be able to afford them. The arts center is working with the local Boys and Girls Club to bring music teachers to the children. You can donate an instrument any time at the Harris Arts Center, 212 South Wall Street, Calhoun, GA 30701. For more information, call 706-629-2599

Mohawk Preschool POPS
Preschool POPS is sponsored in part by Mohawk Industries. This program is geared for children ages 3-6 and offered free-of-charge. The mission of Preschool POPS is to spark a child's imagination through the arts. Professional musical, theatrical, storytelling, and visual arts performances are presented monthly during the school year at the Harris Arts Center.
You must be registered to attend. To register call us at 706-629-2599
3000 students are registered each year!
All 2008-2009 shows are presented in the Ratner Theater at 9:30 AM, 10:45 AM and Noon.
Please arrive early so shows may begin on time.

SUMMER CAMP
at the Harris Arts Center
The Harris Arts Center offers Summer Camps during the month of June each year for children ages 5- 17. Approximately 250 children participate each year. General registration begins May 1.

Summer Camp 2008
We are offering two dates for Art Camp, a Theater Camp and a Garage Band Camp this year. Detailed information below. Art Camps are $55 for Harris Arts Center Members and $70 for nonmembers plus a $20 supply fee. Theater Camp is $60 for Harris Arts Center members and $75 for nonmembers. The price has not yet been set for Garage Band Camp.

9:00–11:30 a.m. for 7 and 8 year-olds
1:00–3:30 p.m. for 9–13 year-olds.
9:00–11:30 a.m. for 5 and 6 year-olds
Children create art all week, then have an “artists’ reception” Fri. 4:30–6:30 p.m.

Theater Camp: June 9–14 10:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. for students entering grades 1–12. Campers “audition” on Monday, rehearse all week, then put on a show Fri. June 13 7 p.m. and Sat. June 14 3 p.m.

Garage Band Camp: All ages, but must be in a band. June 23–July 3. 10:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. How to build a better band from musicianship, to light and sound, to putting together a press kit, to stage presence and more.
